Owner - Licensed commercial diver, servicing all of Southwest Florida for over 25 years. Steve is a well respected marine mechanic, performing situations said to be impossible, under the water. Steve works on shafts, propellers, shaft seals, cutlass bearings, and all underwater running gear. Steve cleans all our boats thoroughly and provides feedback letting our clients know when it is time to change zincs or get bottom paint.
IMPORTANCE OF BOTTOM CLEANING YOUR VESSEL
If you keep your boat in salt water for more than a few days, barnacles will start to grow on the bottom and they secrete a glue like substance to stick to the surface. These barnacles and other growth need to be cleaned off / removed at least once a month.
Barnacles increase boat fuel consumption, affect how fast you can go (slow you down), damage hull surfaces, obstruct water intakes, and are also an eye sore!
